Wireless access
point (WAP)
The wireless access point provides access to a wireless network.
Patch Panel:
A panel with multiple ports for organizing and managing network cables.
Router:
A device that forwards data packets between networks, directing traffic.
Hub
A basic networking device that connects multiple Ethernet devices, broadcasting data to all ports.
Switch:
A device that connects devices on a network and forwards data only to the specific device that needs it.
VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network):
A logical group of devices on a network, segmented for improved performance and security.
Firewall:
A security device that monitors and controls incoming and outgoing network traffic based on predetermined security rules.
