11.6 Laws of Refelction Flashcards
What is Reflection ?
It is the process where light is bounced back from a surface
What are the 2 laws of reflection ?
The angle of incidence will equal the angle of refraction
The incident ray the reflected ray and the the normal all lie on the same reflection
2 Examples of Specular and diffuse reflection
High waxy floor and crumbled up the sheet of aluminum paper
What do the people with Dyslexia have hard time seeing the words ?
The way words appear to them and the strong glare coming off the paper causes too much light to be reflected
Classify each material as exhibiting specular reflection or diffuse reflection)
Highly waxed floor
b) Crumpled sheet of aluminum foil –
c) Dense carpet
d) Flat sheet of aluminum foil, shiny side up
a) Highly waxed floor – Specular reflection (smooth, shiny surface)
b) Crumpled sheet of aluminum foil – Diffuse reflection (irregular surface)
c) Dense carpet – Diffuse reflection (rough, uneven surface)
d) Flat sheet of aluminum foil, shiny side up – Specular reflection (smooth surface)
Provide one example in our kitchen where reflection would happen
Kitchen light could be refecting light by glass top stove
