1.1.1 SI Units Flashcards
Kelvin (K)
The standard unit for temperature. 0 Kelvin starts at the absolute zero hence you can’t get a temperature of -x Kelvin
Absolute zero
The coldest possible temperature, when the kinetic energy in an object equals exactly 0. This means the object has completely stopped all forms of movement, even vibration.
Second (s)
The SI unit for time.
Metre (m)
The SI unit for distance (length).
Ampere (A)
The SI unit for electric current.
Mole (mol)
The SI unit for chemical mass.
Mass of substance = number of moles * relative formula mass
Pascal (Pa)
The SI unit for pressure
Tesla (T)
The SI unit for magnetic flux density
Celsius (°C)
Degrees celsius are derived from the base unit for temperature (Kelvin)
To convert between them use this equation
°C = K — 273
Watt (W)
The SI unit for power
Coulomb (C)
The SI unit for electric charge
Volt (V)
The SI unit for potential difference
also a warframe
Joule (J)
The SI unit for energy
Newton (N)
The SI unit for force
Hertz (Hz)
The SI unit for frequency
