Anonymity
Keeping participant’s or client’s identity away from the publication or any possible inadvertent disclosure.
Briefing
Information about the task given to participants before they are tested.
Confidentiality
Keeping data from participants or clients away publication.
Debriefing
Informing participants about the full nature and rationale of the study they’ve experiences and attempting to reverse any negative influence.
Deception
Leading participants to believe that something other than the true independent variable is involved, or withholding information such that the reality of the investigative situation is distorted.
Informed Consent
Agreement to participate in research in the full knowledge of the research context and participant rights.
Intervention
Research that makes some alteration to people’s lives beyond the specify research setting, in some cases because there is am intention to ameliorate specific human conditions.
Involuntary participant
Taking part in research without agreement or knowledge of the study.
Right to privacy
Right that upholds people’s expectation that their personal lives will not be intruded upon by voluntary or involuntary research participation.
Respect
Valuing the dignity and worth of all persons with sensitivity to the dynamics of perceives authority or influence over clients, with particular regard to people’s rights including those of privacy and self-determination.
Competence
Valuing the continuing development and maintenance of high standards in their work, preserving their ability to function optimally within their recognised limits of their knowledge, skill, training,education and experience.
Responsibility
Avoidance of harm and the prevention of misuse or abuse of a participant’s contributions to society.
Integrity
Honesty, accuracy, clarity and fairness in interactions with all persons.
