How is an approval of the MOE kept valid?
The company has to remain in compliance with Part-145 and the competent authorities are granted access at all times.
What are the two types of findings during an NAA audit?
Level 1 - Significant non-compliance with Part-145 that can seriously alter the flight safety.
Level 2 - Any other non-compliance with Part-145 that can lower the standards and possibly be a hazard to flight safety.
What is the purpose of the EASA form 1?
The certificate which is issued for every component which is to be fitted to an aircraft.
What type of aircraft must be maintained in accordance with Part-145?
- Commercial Aircraft
- Aircraft over 5700kg MTOM
- Twin-engined Helicopters
Organisations have to have suitable facility requirements to operate as a Part-145. Name some examples

If it is grounded in a remote location with no certified component available. It must be removed within 30 flight hours or when it returns to the Base/Line station.
If records stored have been damaged in any way and replacements are found from mechanics personal notes etc, what must be done?
They must be submitted to the relevant NAA in order for inspection.
If an organisation has a computer-based recording system, when should backups be completed?
Within 24 hours of any maintenance activity

In the MOE, there is a section named Limitations on the Organisation. What does this detail?
It allows for situations whereby the organisation does not have the right tooling, equipment etc (for a temporary time).
The NAA would suspend the approval of that particular type of work until the tools, equipment etc are available again.
How is an approval, once issued, kept validated?
Ensuring that the organisation stays compliant with Part-145 and also the relevant competent authority is granted access to carry out audits.
What is different about the EASA form 1 - issue 2?
The user/installer is not relieved from their responsibilities concerning installation. The certificate does not automatically constitute authority to install.
