10 Managing the vSphere Configuration Flashcards
Evaluation Mode vSphere Licenses
After you install ESXi or a vCenter Server system, they operate in evaluation mode for up to 60 consecutive days.
When the Evaluation Period Expires; What happens to the ESXi hosts? What happens to the clusters?
HOSTS:
- All powered on VMs continue to work.
- The host gets disconnected from vCenter Server, which means that the host configuration is locked in the current state.
CLUSTERS:
- You can continue to use the host as part of the cluster.
- You cannot modify the configuration for this host.
- You cannot power on VMs after they are powered off.
Changing the Log Level of vCenter Server
- The none option turns off logging.
- The default logging option info shows information, error, and warning log entries.
- The error and warning options collect fewer details than info.
- The verbose and trivia options collect more details than info.
Editing the Startup Policy of ESXi Services
With sufficient permissions, you can manually start, restart, or stop a service. For example, you might restart a service in the following situation:
- Problem. Connection issues between a host and vCenter Server.
- Solution. Restart the vCenter Server agent (vpxa) in ESXi Host.
Is this statement true or false?

What steps do you take when assigning a license using the vSphere Client?
- Determine that a new license is needed

Adjust the log level of vCenter Server = Collect larger or smaller amounts of data.
Assign a license to an ESXi host = Enable advanced features and capabilities to your host.
