1 Timothy Flashcards
1 Timothy 1:3,5
As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain people not to teach false doctrines any longer The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.
1 Timothy 1:12-14
I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me trustworthy, appointing me to his service. Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.
1 Timothy 1:15-17
Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
1 Timothy 2:1-3
I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior,
1 Tim 2:4
He wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
1 Timothy 2:5-6
For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people.
1 Timothy 3:1
Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task.

They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience.
1 Timothy 3:13
Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus.
1 Timothy 4:4
For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving,
1 Timothy 4:7
Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly.
1 Tim 4:8
For physical trainig is of some value but godliness has value for all things. (THINK OF THE EFFECTS PHYSICAL TRAINING HAS-JUST THINK ABOUT SPIRITUAL)
1 Tim 4:11,12 (Because you are not a pastor)
Command and teach these things. Do not let anyone look down upon you BC you are young but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity
1 Tim 6:6
Godliness with contentment is great gain.
1 Tim 6:11,12
But you man of God, flee from all this and pursue righteosness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith
