What is our purpose?
to ensure everybody can ‘be safe, feel safe’
What are our goals?
Safe homes - means families free from violence, abuse and neglect
Safe roads - working with our partners to prevent death and injury resulting from crashes
Safe communities - means people are safe and fee safe wherever they go and whatever they do

What are the goals of Te Huringa o Te Tai?
will be the driving force behind Police achieving 25% reduction in reoffending by maori and 90% trust and confidence in Police
What does Pou Mataara focus on?
building our people, their skills, knowledge, mind-set and performance to deliver better and more effective outcomes for Maori, iwi, and our communities
What does Pou Mataaho focus on?
a whanau ora approach of co-design and joint delivery of initiatives with Iwi Maori using an evidence based approach.
What does Pou Hourua focus on?
building relationships, which lead to more effective partnerships with iwi, Maori and other organisations.
What are the five frameworks?
- F1 Strategy - provides a tool for leaders to connect their teams to Our Business - providing clear understanding of people of the purpose of their role and how they contribute to the Police.
- F2 Culture - how a shift in ‘mind-set’ will lead to a culture where leaders focus on purpose and enabling their people to make a difference. Shows qualities of top performing teams.
- F3 Leadership - understanding the purpose and expectations of leadership.
- F4 Capability - equip individuals with tools to improve performance and help guide others to perform to their potential.
- F5 Performance Management - enable us to talk about performance in a way that is both meaningful and helpful.
What does Framework 2 Culture consist of?
Culture Transformation Tool - helps identify the culture change needed to make to deliver outcomes promised. Where we have come as an organisation and where we want to get too.
Characteristics of a High Performing Team - tool to build an aligned high performing workgroup. Defines the qualities of top performing teams.
What are the characteristics of a high performing team?
- United - committed members of a high performing team shared the same values, aspirations and values.
- Committed to excellence - strive to be the very best in all that we do.
- Individually accountable and responsible - accept the need to be accountable for our performance.
- Supportive of one another - support one another as people and as members of the group.
What tools does Framework 3 Leadership consist of?
- Set>Enable> Expect - explain the purpose of leadership

How often should Capability Assessment Action Plans be assessed?
once a month as part of monthly conversations then repeat process approx 6 months later to re-set for the next 6 month cycle
What tools does Framework 5 Performance Management consist of?
- Development Plan - help leaders equip our people with the tools to deliver on their Performance Agreement
- Monthly Progress Review - enable leaders to conduct more meaningful conversations with their people about progress and development
- Annual Performance Review
What does the 1:1 Performance Cycle consist of?
- reset the SPT
- update development plan
- have regular progress reviews
- complete annual performance review
What are the Police values?
