Operations and processes definition
they both turn inputs into outputs, but operations are more complex.
SIPOC analysis
Supplier, Inputs, Process, Output, Customer. we can analyse it from 3 levels:
-supply network level(knows about operations)
-operations level (knows about processes)
-processes level (knows about resources)
Input-output transformation model
processes turn inputs into outputs.
Input resources can be: transforming, transformed.
Output delivers to: external or internal customers.
differences between product and service
-Intangible: not physical
-Heterogeneous: difficult to standarize due to customers
-Inseparable: production and consumtion go together
-Persistency: cannot be stored
Servitization and service dominant logic
belief that all processes deliver services.
eg: spotify, rental of cars.
