15
Q

What is Ink Trap?

A

The ratio if an ink film on top of another ink film compared to if the ink was just in paper by itself

16
Q

When plotting ink film density on line graph what happens on the graph and why?

A

The line plateaus.

Because colour pigment won’t get darker no matter how thick the film is. It stays stagnant after a certain point.

17
Q

What’s the most important layer in ink trapping

A

Second-down colour (must measure how much ends up on-top of first printed ink)

18
Q

There are more customer complaints on________

A

Colour

19
Q

What are the two reasons why customers complain about the colour

A
  1. hard to control

2. Very subjective

20
Q

What do you HAVE to know to calculate ink trap?

A

Colour sequence

21
Q

Give an example of dot sharpening/ dot loss

A

When 75% patch prints as a 72% dot on sheet

22
Q

Cyan is the absence of

A

Red (won’t reflect any red/orange)

23
Q

Magenta is the absence of

A

Green (has some indigo/violet)

24
Q

Yellow reflects _________ _______ but no _________ _______

A
  1. Red, orange

2. Blue, green

25
Q

What colour has the greatest amount of hue error?

A

Magenta

26
Q

What colour has the least amount of hue error?

A

Yellow
