Q

IMP: in what ways has the evolution of security studies been linked to events in history and politics?

A

the golden age of security studies was characterized by an emphasis on military and strategic affaris. this approach was further fueled by the nuclear revolution which had theoretical thinking about deterrence.
the renaissance of sss in the 70s was prompted by developments in iran and africa. the end of the cw also marked a new-found interest in new types of wars involving non-state actors. also 9/11 exposed how multilayered conflicts are.
