- there are two types, chondrites and achondrites

a type of stone meteorite that contain small round droplets of silicate minerals called chondrules

stone meteorites that are volcanic rock from space, formed from igneous activity. they don’t contain chondrules. (‘a’ means ‘without’)

not a common type of meteorite.
divided into two types:
- Pallasites: contain nickel iron and olivine crystals
- Mesosiderites: are smaller and contain both nickel- iron and silicates (look silver and black when polished)
