What is primary consciousness?

- concept of agency, we have control over our environment, ourselves, we have free will
- problem: it is unclear if any of our actions are truly voluntary or free
is consciousness equal to awareness?
- awareness: having knowledge of perception of a situation or fact
- problem: driving or the cocktail party, you’re aware but you’re not fully conscious of, you’re not experiencing directly
