Parody
Imitation of a particular writer, artist, or a genre, exaggerating it deliberately to produce a comedic effect
Dramatic Irony
Characters withing a story are unaware of a situation, but the audience is aware of the situation
Situational Irony
Something happens to someone that is contradictory to expectations
Verbal Irony
What is said is the opposite of what one means, used with sarcasm a lot
Stereotype
A widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing
Regionalism
A word or phrase used in/coming from a particular region that is not a part of the standard language
Hamartia
The character flaw or error of a tragic hero that leads to their downfall
Asyndeton
Intentionally eliminate conjunctions between the phrases and in the sentance
Polysendeton
Proces of using conjunctions or connecting words frequently in a sentence, placed closely together to one another
Apostrophe
A writer/speaker detaches himself from reality and addresses an imaginary character in his speech
Parallelism
Use of component in a sentence that are grammatically the same or similar
Parable
Short stories with a morale and universal truth
