Define “Open-Ended” questions
Questions designed to encourage a full meaningful answer using the subject’s own knowledge and/or feelings

What is custodial situation?
Whenever a reasonable innocent person in the subject’s position would feel a restraint on their freedom of movement to such an extent that it approaches a formal arrest

What is a spontaneous confession?
Without questioning, prompting, or coercion, a subject admits, or confesses to a crime
What is defined as emergency situations?
When public safety concerns override warning the individual of their rights against self-incrimination
