02: Simple Stress (Shearing And Bearing Stresses) Flashcards

1
Q

What is Shear Stress? Double Shear Stress?

A

Applied Load (Tension) = Area of Shearing × Shear Stress

where, Area of Shearing = [ π × (diameter)² ] ÷ 4

For Double Shear Stress, double the Shear Stress value (or multiply by two)
