What happens to the powers when two numbers are multiplied?
They are added together.
What happens to the powers when a number is divided by another?
They are subtracted from each other.
What happens to the powers inside the bracket?
They are multiplied by the powers on the outside of the bracket.
What happens when powers are in a fraction, For example 3/2?
Square root the number (denominator of 2), then cube the number (numerator of 3).
How do you get rid of the negative in a power?
Put the number into a fraction ‘under 1’, this is the reciprocal.
What is anything to the power of 0?
1.
What is a rational number?
A/B, A and B are both whole numbers.
What is a root multiplied by the same root?
It’s just the same number but not square rooted. Root 3*Root 3 = 3
