, Flashcards
denture posterior occlusion options
1) traditional balanced
- anatomic
2) lingualized
- semi anatomic (20 degree teeth) or non anatomic balancing ramp
3) monoplane
- non anatomic
monoplane
1) denture guidance is mostly horizontal, and anterior overlap is minimal
2) in traditional occlusion, it will displace the dentures
lingualized occlusion
1) hybrid between monoplane and balances
2) creates centric contact and denture guidance between maxillary lingual cusps and mandibular central fossae/marginal ridges
3) B cusps do not touch!
lingualized posterior tooth arrangement
1) tissue needs to follow the ridge
2) molar central fossae over mandibular ridge crest
3) occlusal plant intersects top 1/3 of the pad
open articulator 1/3 mark on incisal guide pin
1) to compensate for wax cooling shrinkage
finally arrange remaining upper posterior teeth individually
1) set guide pins, leave condyles locked, then grind the teeth until there is a point of contact
2) unlock condyles, then do it again
- eliminate CR-MI slide
