What is the composition of a volleyball team?
A team consists of six players on the court at one time.

Where must the server stand during a serve?
The serve must be taken from behind the end line, with both feet behind the line at the time of contact.
What happens after the serve is made?
After the serve, the server may step into the court to play the point.
What constitutes a service fault?
A service fault includes stepping on or over the line during the serve, not serving within 5 seconds of the whistle, the served ball touching a teammate, distracting the other team, or being out of rotation during the serve.
What are the boundary rules in volleyball?
Any ball landing on a line is considered to be in bounds.
What is a boundary fault?
A boundary fault occurs when a team hits the ball outside of the boundary lines, a player steps over the center line, or a player stands outside of the court boundaries during the serve.
What are the net fault rules?
A player may NOT touch the net, reach under the net to touch the ball or a player, or let the ball pass outside of the vertical net markers (the antennae).
What is the exception to the net fault rule?
The only exception is if the ball is hit into the net causing the net to hit a player.
What is the height of the net for women and men?
The net is 2.24m high for women and 2.43m high for men.
How many times may a team contact the ball on their side of the net?
A team may only contact the ball 3 times on their side of the net. A block does not count as a hit.
Can a player touch the ball two consecutive times?
A player may not touch the ball two consecutive times. A block does not count as a touch.
Where can the ball legally touch a player?
The ball may touch the player anywhere from the top of the foot up. This is considered a legal hit.
What actions are considered ball handling?
Holding the ball, directing the ball, scooping the ball are all considered ball handling.
