Zipride SOP Operating Condtions

A minimum of two trained staff must be present on the zipride deck during ride operations
One must be a zipride master
The registration clerk duties can be undertaken by CO or DO

Question 2

Visibility

A minimum lighting level of 400 Lux must be available on the zipride deck and preparation areas

Riders must be visible to the crew at all times during preparation, the ride and recovery. Rain, fog , low cloud or snow must not obscure the crews view of the Zipride deck, bottom terminal and of the rider.

Question 3

Weather

Answer 3

Adverse weather conditions must not compromise the safety of the personal equipment or operation of the ride process. This may include but is not limited to.

•Wind speed exceeding 70Km/hour
•Wind gusting through the ride zone
•The air temperature falls below -10C
•Excessive snow or ice accumulates on the structure or in operational areas
•When there is a lighting strike in the vicinity of the site and or six seconds or less between lighting and thunder. If this occurs the Zipride deck is to be evacuated. Put the lighting rods on each line, turn line keys off and exit the zipride deck area. Work will not restart until there has been no further lighting for 20 minutes from the last strike

Question 4

Equipment

•If any part of the rigging or personal equipment is found sub standard, appropriate action must be taken to recommence operational procedures.
• Any equipment requirements noted in the operations log must be addressed.
• If an event occurs or a hazard/dysfunction is noticed that could affect the structural stability of the platform,operational procedures must cease immediately and must not recommence until issues are corrected

Question 5

Incident

Answer 5

•When there is an event involving or in different circumstances could have caused serious injury, the issue must be recorded, analysed, resolved, and changes implemented that will prevent this incident from recurring.
•Where an incident involving the operating system requiring further analysis occurs, the operational procedures must cease until the incident is resolved

Question 6

Communication

Answer 6

•Communication between the zipride deck, site office and office emergency Management team must be established

Question 7

Access

Answer 7

•Access to and from site must be conducted safely.
