How does the spleen transform and transport energy derived from food and drink?

A

Transforms food and drink into Gu Qi by separating the usable and non-usable parts.
Usable parts are sent to the Lungs for production of Qi (Zong Qi is created from Gu Qi and Yuan Qi) and Blood. Non usable is sent to SI for further breakdown.

Spleens breaks down fluids. Clear fluid is sent to Lungs to moisten skin and dirty fluid is sent to intestines where is is further separated into clean and dirty parts. Clean parts are sent to the Bladder and dirty to the LI.
