Why was it difficult to live in the Viking homelands?

A

It was difficult because the land was not arable and their was not enough land because of the growing population. Also, the landscape was hilly and it was cold most of the year.

A

It caused them to raid other parts of Europe, kill people and take their land and belongings. They also went looking for new land.

It is because they believed that they will need them in their afterlife.

Explain Viking battle tactics while they were at sea.

A

If a Viking fleet was being attacked the smaller boats would surround the bigger boat to protect it, closing gaps and they would place blanks across the boats.
