Biome
A Biome is a large region of Earth, that has certain climate and certain types of living things.
Biodiversity
The variety of living things in a given place.
Tundra
Rolling treeless plain that can be found in arctic and subarctic regions.
Latitude
The Latitude of the Earth gives the distance North or South of the Equator.
Food security
Food security exists when all people at all times can get enough nutritious and safe food.
Food scarcity
long and extreme shortage of food.
Land cover change
The way that physical material at the surface of the Earth has been altered.
Land degradation
The decline in the overall quality of soil, water or vegetation condition commonly caused by human activities.
Deforestation
When forests are destroyed by cutting trees(logging) and not replanting them.
Prevailing winds
The usual wind in an area or region.
Agriculture
describes the practice of growing crops or raising animals
Desertification
is the expansion of desert into the surrounding areas, normally because of human causes.
Terrestrial
means relating to the earth or those who live there.
Sustainable
something that will last a long time and can replenish itself.
Population growth
The increase in the number of people that reside within a state or country.
