It turns while it heats so it’s heated easily calcium carbonate is put in and once it’s heated it makes calcium oxide and carbon dioxide
What are some economic advantages/disadvantages of a quarry/cement works?
Advantages- more jobs, more business to small local businesses, important worldwide product so lots of money to be made
Disadvantages- less tourists
What are some social advantages/disadvantages of a quarry/cement works?
Advantages- easier to travel due to improved roads, more jobs, more business to small local businesses
Disadvantages- more traffic due to trucks and people getting to work, dust and noise pollution (dust can cause chest problems and noise is disturbing), less tourism
What are some environmental advantages/disadvantages of a quarry/cement works?
Advantages- (less CO2)
Disadvantages- destroys habitats, more traffic, dust can destroy crops, destroys area of natural beauty, releases CO2 and cements particles
