Year 8 - Term 4 Flashcards
Where does cell respiration occur?
In the mitochondria
The correct equation for photosynthesis is?
Water + energy + carbon dioxide –> glucose + oxygen
Osmosis is the process that involves?
The movement of water molecules from a low concentration to a high concentration, through a semi permeable membrane
List for different types of seed dispersion
Wind dispersal, animal dispersal (digestive), animal dispersal (physical attachment), explosive dispersal
Equation for cell respiration?
Glucose + oxygen –> carbon dioxide + water + energy
How do animal cells differ from plant cells?
Plant cells have a vacuole, cell wall and chloroplasts
what is nucleus?
The ‘control centre’ of the cell. Contains genetic material (DNA)
What are chloroplasts?
Parts in a plant cell that contain chlorophyll, that reduce glucose and oxygen using energy from the sun.
What is the cell membrane?
Outside part of a cell that keeps the cell together and controls what goes in and out
What do general animals cells contain?
A cell membrane, nucleus, mitochondria and cytosol.
