What is the effect of balance forces on a stationary body?
The body stay stationary when balanced forces are acting on it When is it stationary.
What is the effect of balanced forces on a moving body?
The body continues moving in the original speed at a constant rate
What are balanced forces ?
They are equal on both sides so the object doesn’t move or moves at a continuous rate
What is an unbalanced force ?
The bodies aren’t in equilibrium they will change their motion in some way
What does resultant force mean ?
The combined effect of the forces
How do you calculate resultant forces ?
You find out the forces acting on either side of the object and do a calculation depending on what is happening.
What is the effect of a resultant force on a stationary body ?
It will get faster
What is the effect of a resultant force on a moving body ?
In the same direction = accelerate
In opposite direction = slow down
What causes friction ?
A force that acts between surfaces in contact that are moving

Bike helmet-wanted to cut through air fast

What are the factors affecting static friction ?
Area of contact, mass of block, roughness of surfaces
Describe the experiment that shows the static force factors ?
Place a block with 4kg weight on it, Attach the newton meter, pull horizontally with 2N, repeat with higher strengths til it moves.
