What is a DDoS attack?
A Distributed Denial of Service attack is when a hacker crashes the website’s server by loading it with useless information to overload it’s capacity.
What is a Brute Force attack?
A Brute Force attack is when a hacker uses a bot or themself to enter every possible password to enter the digital account.
What is the difference between LAN and WAN?
Wide Area Networks cover a large geographical area, such as the world, and Local Area Networks cover a small geographical area, such as an office.
What is a Hub?
A hub is a piece of network hardware that copies all the packets it receives to all the connected computers.
What is a Switch?
A switch works in the same way as a hub, but only copies the packets to a certain amount of computers connected.
What does a Repeater do?
A repeater boosts the length that a connection travels, extending the length of the radius it can connect with.
What do Bridges do?
Bridges connect LANs.
What is a Gateway?
A gateway acts a ‘gate’ between networks and helps drive out traffic and cleans up the connection.
