On the right side of of the screen, under the properties tab, under transform it will show you the width (w) and height (h) of the object.
What’s the difference between the selection tool (black arrow) and the direct selection tool (white arrow)?
The Selection tool (black arrow) will always select the object as a whole. Use this tool when you want to manipulate the entire object (e.g. move or make it bigger).
The Direct Selection tool (white arrow) will always select the points or lines that make up that object. You can use it to reshape a path.
What are the two ways of selecting multiple objects on your artboard?
- Holding shift and selecting each item OR
2. Dragging a selection box from one corner to another.

When creating the anchor points of a line, hold the click on your trackpad and drag your finger to change the angle of the curve.

How would you flip a shape around a vertical or horizontal axis?
Select the object. Then, on the top tabs, go to Object > Transform > Reflect… and select whether you would want to flip the object on the vertical or horizontal axis.
What would you need to do on illustrator to laser cut a score line on the felt?
Engrave a line that is in RGB Blue.
What size should we make the artboard for millinery felt?
width: 800mm, height: 420mm
