Define the five components of health
Social - relates to the ways in which we interact and the relationships we have with others.
Physical - refers to our level of fitness
Emotional - refers to how one feels and the ability to express themselves
Cognitive - refers to the mental state of oneself
Spiritual - refers to the belief system
Define fitness
Fitness is the ability of the body to meet the everyday demands of physical effort. It can also be described as the ability of the body to adapt to the demands and stress that are placed upon it.
Explain the difference between health and skill related fitness components
Health related components of physical health are those that are linked to personal health, lifestyle and illness prevention where as skill related components are those that allow an athlete to perform sports skills.

Outline the principles of training
Overload - gradually increases the intensity of each session making each session harder than the last
Progression - one must progress as the body adapt to the physical demands
Specificity - according basing training based on the component of fitness that is being improved
Variability - including a variety of activities in a training schedule

Outline two STIs
Chlamydia - transmitted through vaginal or anal sex without a condom, can be prevented with the use of a condom, usually treated with a single dose of antibiotics, symptoms in females include burning feeling when urinating and unusual vaginal discharge and pain in the belly, symptoms in males include burning while urinating and pus from the penis.
HIV - transmitted through unprotected sex, sharing injection equipment and HIV positive as a fetus, can be prevented with the use of a condom, symptoms are similar to that of the flu, there is no cure
Define Gender
Describes the characteristics associated with women and men that are socially constructed. Makes up the gender identity and determines identity roles.
Define Sex
Biological characteristics of males and females, determined by a persons genes.
Define Sexuality
Refers to how one expresses themselves sexually. Contributing factors include biology, sex hormones, personality, experiences, culture, attitude and expectations.
Symptoms of stress
Low energy, headaches, insomnia, irritable, rapid heartbeat, illness

The ability to persist
