A

Power supply fires up.
Once steady output provided ‘Hardware Reset’ signal sent to CPU.
This contains a jump command to the starting address of BIOS start up program.

What is the POST.

A

The Power On Self Test carried out as the BIOS checks on hardware and system health check.

Checks on if BIOS is corrupted, system chips are OK, process is OK, system memory is OK, keyboard is present and video display memory is OK.
