9
Q

What is a constructive plate margin?

A

It is when the plates move apart and let magma through.and create a shield volcano.

Q

What is a destructive plate margin?

A

It is when Oceanic crust and continental crust push together and the oceanic crust is forced down and it melts in the mantle and at may cause an earthquake. Magma rises through the cracks and forms a composite volcano.

Q

What is a conservative plate margin?

A

It is when two plates rub past each other and create pressure which can cause a snap and create an earthquake.

15
Q

How can monitoring, prediction, protection and preparation can reduce the risk of earthquakes and volcano eruptions?

A

They can be used to find out when one will happen, to train people how to stay safe during one and how to build buildings that can withstand them.

16
Q

What are the immediate responses to volcano eruptions and earthquakes?

What are the long term responses to volcano eruptions and earthquakes?

A

Emergency care, Food, and more.

New buildings, and more.

17
Q

Why was the earthquake’s impacts of Haiti (poor) so bad compared to the impacts in Christchurch (reasonably rich).

A

Because Haiti was not as well prepared as there houses were bad and many other things due to lack of money.

18
Q

What is the difference between magma and lava?

A

Magma is what it is called below ground and lava is what is called when it is above ground.
