Jingoism
A strong and unreasonable belief in the superiority of your own country: Jingoism on the part of many in the population was one of the factors that led to the rise of this dictator and warmonger.
Propaganda
Material that aims to push a particular political point of view or agenda, often by using biased or misleading information: Political groups will spread propaganda in order to influence people and serve their own interests.
Disenchanted
Disappointed or let down by something or someone you once admired: The reasons for young people being disenchanted with politics are complex.
Patriotic
Someone who loves their country and feels very loyal towards it: The crowd sang ‘Land of Hope and Glory’ and other patriotic songs.
Inhumanity
Without human feelings such as warmth, mercy, or sympathy; cruel, brutal, or not caring: As prisoners of war, the soldiers were given inhuman treatment.
Assonance
A repeated vowel sound in words close together: His tender heir might bear his memory
Enjambement
Device used in poetry where a sentence continues beyond the end of the line or verse: I wonder, by my troth, what thou and I / Did, till we loved?
Caesura
A pause in the middle of a line of poetry: so much depends. upon.

Plosive
Words that make an explosive sound when forced from the lips - associated with the letters p, t, k, b, d, g: Bella broke the breakfast bar perched on the tabletop
Juxtaposition
Placing two things side by side so as to highlight their differences: It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.
