Personal prayers in our own words. Said from the heart.
Why do Catholics pray?
To show love to God. Thank God. To make a request for ourselves or someone else. To ask for forgiveness.

Let there be light.

How do Catholics understand Genesis 1?
Inspired by God, spiritual truth that teaches us that God created the world and everything good.
How do Literalists understand Genesis 1?
Word of God, God created the world in 6 days and rested on the 7th.
What was man made from and how did God give him life in Genesis 2?
Dust from the ground and God breathed life through his nostrils.
What is ruah?
Breath/Spirit of God.
What is stewardship?
The Christian belief that all humans are responsible for taking care of the world.
What is creationism?
The belief that the world began exactly how it is written in Genesis.
What is scientism?
The belief that science is the best way to find out the truth about the world.
What is the Big Bang Theory?
The theory that the world began with an explosion.
What is Evolution?
The theory that species change over time due to their environment.
How do Catholics believe the world began?
Catholics believe that God made the Big Bang happen. Catholics disagree with scientism and creationism.
Why do Catholics believe in stewardship?
In Genesis, humans are instructed to look after the world. Humans should look after the world because it is a gift from God.

Dignity of the Human Person, Solidarity, Subsidiarity, Common Good.
What is dignity?
All humans are born worthy of respect.
What is solidarity?
All humans working together as one family.
What is subsidiarity?
All humans should help those in need.
What is the Common Good?
The earth belongs to all humans.
