A

Personal Growth - I have outgrown my rank and want to be challenged further. I feel my leadership style and lessons learnt in the OC Air Ops Flt can help shape the Int Flight to be even more effective.

A

Makingthe most of their skillset individually and collectively to ensure better awareness for HQ Int to use them effectivly for customer taskings

A

Focus on valuing our people - pers reguarly demostrate extra commitment and capaciity by turning up

Better Integration -Ensuring that Sqn pers are ready to support HQ Air and Air and Space Ops taskings.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing the RAF?

A

Retention - ensuring the offer is right for them. How do we compete with the private sector? Highly skilled pers need to feel wanted and empowered to make a difference. Placing trust in them to ensure they’re bought in to the journey.
Recruitment - undermanned by a third. 2000/3000 - recruitment at middle management, no problem at base rank.

Given the opportunity, what issue would you bring to CAS attention, and what solution would you offer?

A

Better use of the Reservist’s skills and experience in their civilian role to support RAF taskings. In addition to advertising for mobilisation or tasking based on their rank, they should consider their CV and strategically identify placements based on their strengths as opposed to rank or profession

A

Keeping fit, crossfit, cycling, swimming - travelling and volunteering beach cleans

A

Being able to provide top cover for the OC, having the foresight to deal with incoming problems and use appropriate challenge.

A

Transformational Leadership - coaching style to help identify strengths and plan for the future.

A

To me this is about having the courage and confidence to raise an issue.

Covid and coming up with different COAs for the return to trg based mostly on output rather than risk to pers

  • Get to know the Flt
    -Support the Flt Cdr in his management of the Sqn.
  • Establish a closer relationship with SO3 Taskings at HQ Int (Waddo)
    Visit Wyton/Waddo and take inspiration form CONEMP to ensure better coordination.

New CONEMP

A

Hub and spoke model with a new focus on being task-driven whereas to date it has been Sqn led.

-Asking customers for taskings
-Creation of a tracker to coordinate taskings where they can then prioritise and have regular reviews

Aim to work more closely with the GSS Sqns (x7) and have better coordination and awareness of each Sqn’s capabilities - who’s doing what, why, where, when, output etc.
