what does it mean when something is sex-linked (X-linked).
A
a disease which affects the X chromosome. the disease are usually recessive IE:
XHXH -no affected
XHxh- carrier
Xhxh - not affected

which gender is more likely to get x-linked diseases?
A
males. females have less of a change to get it because they have an extra x. for men its either:
XHy- not affected
Xhy- affected

what are some x-linked diseases?
A
hemophilia ( missing a blood clotting agent), and color blindness.

what is an autosomal disease?
A
a disease that is either receive or dominant that is not sex linked.

is x-linked only recessive?
A
no. there is x-linked dominant (XAY XAXA), but we dont need to know about it.
