He reported that when the

bangle on a man’s upper arm, he said to him,
“Woe be on you! What is this?” The man replied
that it was to protect him from a sickness called
al-wahinah. The Prophet (May peace be upon
him) then said, “Cast it off, for verily it will only
increase your weakness. And, if you died with it
Eiman ibn Husayn
He also reported that when Allah’s messenger (May peace be upon him) set out of Hunayn (The site of the last major battle between the Prophet (May peace
be upon him) and the Arabian pagan tribes), they passed by a tree called ____________ (that which has thing hanging on it). The idolaters used to hang their weapons on its branches for good fortune. Some of the sahabah who were new to Islam asked the

The Prophet (May peace be upon him)
replied, “Subhanallah! This is just like what
moses’ people said to him; “Make a god for us
just like their god!” ________ By the one in whose
hand my life rest my soul, all of you will follow
the path of those before you. (Tirmizi,
an-Nasa’ee and Ahmad)
Surah Al-A’raf (7:138)
He reported that the Prophet (May peace be upon him) once said, “May Allah cause failure and unrest to whoever wears a talisman or puts it on other”.
(Ahmad and al-Hakim)
Uqbah ibn ‘Amir
He wife, ________ reported that once when ibn Mas-’ud saw a cord necklace around her neck and he ask what it was, she replied, “it is a cord in which a spell has been placed to help me.” He snatched it from her neck, broke it up and said “Surely the family of Abdullaf has no need for Shirk!” I have heard Allah’s messenger (May peace be upon him) say, ‘Verily sells, talismans, and charms are shirk.
Abdullah ibn Mas-’uds and Zaynab
“Zaynab replied, “Why are you saying this? My eye used to twitch and when I went to so and so, the Jew, he out a spell on it and it stopped twitching!” Ibn Mas-’ud replied, “Verily it was only a ____ prodding it with his hand so
when you had it bewitched he left it. It would have been sufficient for you have to say as the Prophet (May peace be upon him) used to say”
“(Idh-habil-ba’s Rabbannas aw ishfi’
antash-shaafi’ La shifaa’a illa shifaa ‘uka shifaa
‘an la yughaadiruha Saqaman) Remove the
suffering, O lord of mankind and heal it perfectly
as You are the true healer, there is no cure
except Your cure; a cure which is not followed
by sickness!” (Abu Dawud, Ahmad and Ibn
Hibban)”
