A

What was the Blitzkrieg?

A

Hitler’s plan of attack - the Germans would bomb important places like power stations and airfields before sending infantry units to take over those areas.

A

To weaken the country before they invaded properly, leaving them defenceless and to cause havoc and panic amongst the civilians.

A

France and Britain were defending France from the German troops who were advancing. Many retreated back to Dunkirk and Winston Churchill ordered that anyone with a boat would bring the soldiers home.

1) He introduced a compulsory military service and they built tanks, planes, submarines etc
2) The Austrian leader, Von Schuschnigg, visited Germany and was forced to make the Austrain Nazi Party legal and was then forced to resign and was replaced by a Nazi
