Women replaced men in the work force- offices, factories, Rosie the Riveter- becomes symbol of women’s power in work force

Joined all armed services, became pilots, not allwed in combat

War Productions Board- set prices of goods, helped negotiate with unions, decided what should be made, Helped factories convert to making war materials-
Set up rationing of coffee, sugar, meat, gasoline— Planted Victory Gardens - sold Liberty Bonds - raise taxes

Describe the D-Day invasion.
June 6, 1944 - 4,000 Allied ships crossed the English Channel and Landed on five beaches on Normandy, France. Beaches were mined and much gunfire- Allied forces able to push past German forces. Allied forces then freed Paris August 25, 1944 and then liberated rest of France.
