He set up the first lab of experimental psychology at the University of Leipzig, where he studied sensations and feelings mainly.
What scientific method did he use?
He used structuralism, which is attempting to understand the structure of the mind through scientific method.

The systematic analysis of one’s own experience of a stimulus.
What other contributions did he make?
After graduating the University of Heidelberg as a doctor, he taught physiology there, despite his real interest being psychology, of which he delivered the first university course there.
Why was he so influential to psychology?
He took psychology from a sub-discipline of biology and philosophy and made it its own science.
What is a strength of Wundt’s work?
Some of his methods were scientific, as they were recorded in a controlled lab environment.
What is a weakness of Wundt’s work?
Some aspects of his method would be considered unscientific by today’s standards, as the introspection method is subjective.
