How often need to clean carbine?
- after every use
- once a month
- anytime it gets dirty/wet
- if submerged in water, needs to be taken to armorer
Firearm Safety Rules
- treat all firearms as loaded
- always point muzzle in a safe direction
- finger off trigger, until intend to shoot
- know your target and surroundings
Three conditions to be met for a firearm to discharge?
- Firearm must be functioning
- FA must be loaded
- Trigger must be pressed

Define ballistics
Science of the travel of a projectile. Includes interior and exterior ballistics.
What is internal ballistics
What happens inside the weapon when bullet is fired:
- Ignition and burning of propellant
- pressure of expanding of gasses
- weight of projectile
What is Exterior ballistics?
Flight path of the projectile

How effectively a bullet dumps energy in an impacted medium
What happens to the projectile when it impacts a medium?
- deformation
- fragmentation
- tumble
- any combination of the 3 above
2 types of wound profiles
- Permanent
- damage caused by projectile (entry/exit wound, damaged tissue) - Temporary
- Cavity created by the shockwave as a result of the energy dump from the projectile.
A bullet, which enters the body, can only provide physical incapacitation when one of two conditions is achieved:
- Sufficient damage to the central nervous system (brain/spine) to prevent further physical activity
OR - Blood loss to a degree that the circulatory system collapses and the oxygen starvation of the brain causes unconsciousness.
