What is the purpose of a headrest and how do you move it up/down?
- This is where the patient will rest their head
- to move up and down you just pull up or push down: no lever
- It can also be moved to accommodate patients in wheelchairs
What is the purpose of a headrest locking knob and how do you use it?
- this adjusts the headrest back and forth
- when you turn it to the left, it will release the locking knob so you are able to adjust it
- make sure to lock the knob after its adjusted by turning it to the right
What is the purpose of the folding arm rest?
- this is where the patient will rest their arm
- should be lowered prior to the patient being seated so they can easily get in the chair and placed back up once they have sat
How does the button for unlocking the arm rest work?
- you pressed the button on the chair in order to put the armrest down
- to lock the button again you simply pull the arm rest all the way up and it should click back into place
What is the lift?
a mechanism for raising and lowering the chair
What is the purpose of the chair seat
this is where the patient sits
What is the purpose of the swivel break lever & how does it work & when could it be useful?
- allows to the entire chair to rotate
- when you pull the lever to the Right it Releases and when you push it to the Left it is Locked
- this could be used to make room for a wheelchair patient
What is the purpose of the backrest?
this supports the patients back
What is the purpose of the footrest
- the end of the chair where patients put their feet
- BEWARE do not allow patients to sit on footrest, this may cause the chair to tilt upwards as it is not bolted to the ground
What is the purpose of the foot control?
this is a tool operated with your foot to activate the air-driven piece (activates air)
What is the purpose of the solids separator?
this collects any solids that may go through the drain so they do not get in the main drain
What is the purpose of the self contained water bottle?
- this holds treated water (a distilled water mixture)
- using this mixture reduces the waterline contamination
What is the purpose of the metal tray holder
this holds dental instruments
What is the purpose of the skid pad under the metal tray?
this ensures the tray is in a secure position and prevents any unintentional movement
What is the purpose of the master on/off toggle on the side of the tray?
- this turns on the air, water and electrical power systems
