Q

How is the formative assessment feedback?

A

Formative Assessment: Feedback
The student must understand that the teacher is not trying to humiliate him or her with the comments on the written work.

The student considers the teacher’s suggestions for the following assignments.

The student becomes a better writer because he or she is able to identify his or her mistakes and correct them without the teacher’s assistance.

Tips for writing evaluating

A

Avoid over-correction (crossings-out, red ink, underlining).

Use a list of written symbols (S = spelling, WO = word order). It makes the correction look less damaging and promotes student self-evaluation.

Write comments at the end of the piece of written work to boost the student’s self-esteem.
