Most common overuse injury at the wrist
-stenosing tenosynovitis of 1st dorsal compartment

Forced finger extension against active flexion

Loss of AROM at DIP
- “make a fist” and fingertip cannot touch palm
- block PIP in extension and ask them to flex DIP
What is Kienbock’s disease?
Avascular necrosis of lunate
*thought to be from repetitive trauma
decreased grip strength and ROM
MRI is diagnostic
MOI of pisiform fx?
Direct blow, racquet sports

Scapholunate injury
Most common MOI for scapholunate injury?
Excessive wrist ext and UD
- fall on pronated hand
- common in collision/contact sports
Which special test to use for scapholunate injury?
Watson’s (scaphoid shift) test
*not very good to rule in or out though, often not possible c acute injuries either
Which x-ray views would you recommend for scapholunate injury?
Standard XR and Stress views (clenched fist, supinated view in UD)
What is the common MOI for future of ECU subsheath?
Sudden flexion/UD stress
