When you almost get your opponent pinned…
1. the bottom wrestler has shoulders pinned for 2 seconds within 4 inches of the mat
- One-shoulder touches the mat and the other is at a 45-degree angle coming down.
- The bottom wrestler is in a bridge position
- The bottom wrestler is on one or both elbows
if a near fall lasts for 2 seconds = 2 points. If it lasts for 5 seconds = 3 points.
How many points are awarded to a Cautions?
1/2 Your opponent is awarded points if... 1. illegal moves: intent to injure 2. Goes off the mat or avoids wrestling 3. Grabbing clothing, the mat, or headgear 4. locked or overlapped hands
Three cautions = disqualified
How many periods are in a match?
- 3, two minutes long each
How is a period won?
Whoever has the highest points by the end of the period.
