WRAML Flashcards
Verbal Memory Index
an estimate of how well the client can learn and recall both meaningful verbal information and relatively rote verbal information
is correlated with abilities for everyday tasks
remembering stories, conversations, or information from lectures
Related academic tasks can include the ability to recall the content of information that was read earlier, the ability to learn lists of scientific terms, or the ability to remember vocabulary words.
Visual Memory Index
an estimate of how well the client can learn and recall both meaningful (i.e., pictorial) and minimally related, rote (i.e., design) visual information
(e.g., remembering the layout of the town visited a while ago, identifying different car models, remembering the location of states on a map). Related academic tasks can include the recall of information from the chalkboard,
Attention/Concentration Index
The Attention/Concentration Index is an estimate of how well the client can learn and recall relatively nonmeaningful rote, sequential information
More specifically, performance on the Attention/Concentration Index is correlated with performance on everyday tasks
remembering a dictated telephone number until it can be written down
Related academic tasks can include learning phonetically irregular spelling words and following the specific details and/or a sequence of oral directions.
Working Memory
an estimate of how well the client can operate on and retain information that is held in the short-term memory buffer.
For example, working memory skills are required to reorganize and remember when listening to an automated operator
Verbal Recognition Index
an estimate of how well the client can recognize specific verbal information that was presented previously during this testing session
Visual Recognition Index
an estimate of how well the client can recognize specific nonverbal or visual information that was presented previously in the session
General Recognition Index
an estimate of how well the client can recognize specific verbal and visual information that was presented previously
