Q

Biblically, what is the rationale for God’s command not only to destroy heathen idols but to destroy the idol worshipers as well?

A

The rationale is that the heathen idol worshipers were so evil that they would never be convinced for Gods love or abide by His laws. They committed the unpardonable sin of ignoring the Holy Spirit calling for so long that they are no longer capable of hearing the Holy Spirit calling. They have no hope of salvation so it is better that they were dead so that they would not be able to lead others away from God.

65
Q

How can Christians practice tolerance, yet at the same time stand up boldly for their faith and beliefs?

A

The Bible states that we should hold to high moral standard and never compromise it. However, on topics that don’t really contradict the Bible and are matters of opinion, we should be tolerant and accommodating. Christians must refute anything that minimizes that effort to take the word to nonbelievers. Above all, truth should be upheld and cherished.

66
Q

How would you biblically explain the concept that a person is either saved or lost, that there is no third option?

A

The Bible says in Romans 6:26 that the wages of sin are death. However, Jesus came to save those who accept his sacrifices. So, now we have the option to choose life or to choose eternal separation from God. The Bible states that we must believe and be baptized. No one can save themselves with works because all have sinned and all fall short of God’s glorious standard (Roman 3:23). The Bible speaks of no other option. Matthew 25:46 states, “then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life”. This verse gives no room for a third option-you either receive eternal life or eternal death.
