-changing beliefs about the basic make-up of people and women’s ability to make decisions
-society began to believe that women are equal to men in some areas
-extending responsibility to women and seeing them as responsible beings (values)
-giving women the ability to vote acknowledged they also had power (values)
-allowing women to vote showed that society valued the knowledge and opinions that women possesed (society)
