Q

TOTAL WAR

A

America sacrificed during the war by combining national economic output with the growing technology and mobilization of civilian population.

(I.e. Civilians were completely involved in the war’s effort than others.)

E.g. Carpooling instead of driving alone to save gasoline for the war effort.

(Historian Dons Goodwin) = U.S. Was changing from a civilian to war time production.

E.g. Store company making life boats; toy company makes compasses; corset company makes grenade belts. –> because they were producing consumer goods –> full employment
