Q

Anzac involvement in Gallipoli

What happened and what was Gallipoli. Why was it established

A

In Europe 1915 Britain, Russia and France were all alllie so separated by Germany(their intended target) and Turkey who sits beside Germany. Anzac men thought they were going into battle with Germany from Britain but in 1914 turkey entered the war. This made it impossible for Britain and France to communicate with Russia as they had no supply route which before, would have been through Turkey. Now Turkey was opposing and they had to establish the Gallipoli campaign in 1915 to open up access for allies. So they decided to rid of the Turks first to get their supply line back.
