Demographics:
Statistics (facts) that provide information about people
and the characteristics (features) of populations.
Population:
the amount of inhabitants of a particular place.
Population density:
the average number of inhabitants of an area per
square km.
Infant mortality rate:
the number of infants who do not survive their first
year per 1000 live births.
Obesity:
the state of being excessively overweight.
Life expectancy:
the average amount of time a person may expect to
live.
Literacy rate:
the percentage of the population that can read and write.
Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita:
assesses the condition of
a country’s economy (country’s products per year divided by the
population).
Unemployment rate:
the percentage of the population without a job
who are able and willing to work.
HIV:
a potentially life-threatening virus.
When will goverments generally conduct a census?
At least every 10 years.
